Here you can watch my progress as I create a plaque from a piece of rippled ash!

A riverside scene with kingfisher and a dragonfly. The rippled grain already gives a wonderful water effect and the bark  edge will form surrounding tree branches. Here you can see the scene being sketched in. My pyrography machine is away for repair, so I will be working on the carving of this before returning to complete the first plaque.

Things have progressed! A mother of pearl moon and shell added onto the kingfisher to give that glint of turquoise. Just some final details to highlight...

The final plaque. I have added dragonflies with mother of pearl wings,

to view close up details please see my  Art on Wood for sale page.

I am now creating a plaque to hang in an Uppingham hairdressing salon

 called Good Hair Days!

Here I am positioning the hares, I put a mother of pearl moon over a large knot in the wood.  The wood is so lovely and highly figured I am going to keep this simple with just the hares having a good day!

Here is the final plaque, Good Hare Days!
